Rockliffe Hall - the perfect spa day!

Normally, to celebrate my birthday with my friends I'd have a lovely meal which would most probably lead into a night out. However, this time round I wanted to do something slightly more special - seeing as it was my 21st.

I did my research and luckily I came across Rockliffe Hall. It's located in Darlington and is a five star luxury golf and spa hotel offering an award-winning spa.

They have a variety of offers and set spa packages, or you can create your own 'Tailor Made For You Spa Day' which I went for. This gave everyone the opportunity to choose a treatment they would like and the lovely reservation team build your day around the groups choices.

I had never been for a spa day before so wasn't quite sure what to expect - but I was blown away! From the minute we arrived to the moment we left, we felt completely relaxed - can I live in robes and slippers, please?

Wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else but my beautiful best friends!
Spa Garden

This was first on our itinerary for the day, the Spa Garden is the newest addition to the Spa at Rockliffe Hall. It's so beautiful, blending indoors with the outdoors in the most tranquil way. Inside there's a glass fronted sauna, monsoon shower, heated relaxation loungers; and outside the infinity edge pool is the perfect place to chat and relax. We spent two hours in this area, helping ourselves to the complimentary refreshments and catching up! The Spa Garden is included in most of the Spa Day packages or if it's not it costs £30 for two hours - and it's totally worth it.

Lunch at the Brasserie

We then had lunch in the Spa's restaurant, I loved the fact we could just sit and eat in our robes and slippers! We had a two course meal and it was so delicious. Then all of my lovely friends let me have my birthday present early... they treated me to the most gorgeous little blue box (ahhhh) and the tastiest cupcakes ever!!!

Hydromemory Facial

After lunch we each had our chosen treatments. Massages, Mud Baths and Facials.. what could be more perfect?! I went for the Hydromemory Facial as my skin type is quite dry/dehydrated naturally. I was introduced to my therapist and then she took me to the treatment room. The room itself was beautiful, dimly lit with amazing scented Neom candles and I was absolutely in my element.

Rockliffe Hall describe the treatment as 'a deep hydrating treatment for face, neck and décolleté to replace moisture. The hydra balance of the skin is restored and the skin is beautifully luminous and toned, a fresh youthful complexion.'

I can totally vouch for their description, for the whole hour I was in a kind of trance, half asleep but half absolutely taking in every part of the treatment. It was the most relaxing sixty minutes of my whole entire life! When my therapist told me to open my eyes and that the treatment had ended my heart sank a little - I didn't want to leave! I'd recommend this treatment if you're skin is like mine: quite dry and tight! My skin felt so lovely and soft for weeks afterwards.

Argan Indulgence Pedicure with ORLY Gel FX

I then went for my pedicure, the spa only use ORLY products and they are all so lovely! I was going to Barcelona the day after so I opted for a gel finish to make sure it didn't chip on my holiday - they ended up lasting for nearly three weeks! Honestly, my feet felt as soft as a baby's bottom after the exfoliating soak and numerous creams and lotions put on my feet!

Use of the Spa Facilities

For the rest of the afternoon we had full use of the rest of the spa facilities. These include the Hydro Pool, the Igloo, the Tropicarium (sauna), the Caldarium (steam room), swimming pool and more monsoon showers! All of these facilities were so relaxing, I could really feel a difference to my skin and even my muscles afterwards. There is even a gym but I didn't have the time to use it - that's one reason to go back!

I couldn't recommend Rockliffe Hall enough. It would definitely be a perfect place to spend the day, stay for a weekend to celebrate or even go for an evening spa session if you live nearby! I had the most incredible time and cannot wait to be back there soon. If you're interested, check out Rockliffe Hall's Spa packages on their website here.

I'd just like to say a massive thank you to Rockliffe Hall for making my 21st so unbelievably special.

Also a big thank you for reading about my super relaxing day - I hope you enjoyed it!

Have you been to an amazing Spa you think I should know about?!

Love,
Kirby X
