TRAVEL: Switching off

A week away in the sun was exactly what I needed. I completely switched off, relaxed, read books and laughed until my belly hurt.

The past year has been a crazy whirlwind - I’ve learnt so much about myself. Especially that other people’s actions are absolutely no reflection of me. I’ve turned 23 and have only just learnt to truly give my time to those that deserve it, those that give me positivity and don’t make me doubt myself. There is so much more to this world than giving attention to those that could not care less.

Travel is so good for my soul. I truly believe I’m happiest when I’m exploring new places or even sat in the sunshine and getting completely engrossed into a book I’ve not had time to finish at home.

After spending a year working/commuting/stressing (and sweating on the tube) in London, I very quickly became accustomed to the views of East Croydon, the armpits in my face at ten past 8 every morning and counting down to my 2pm cup of tea. I soon remembered the beauty of being barefoot for 5 days, admiring what nature really does have to offer and waking up naturally without an alarm after spending the evening laughing until I cried. The best feeling.

Here's to an amazing summer with my loved ones.

  1. So glad you had the best time! Holidays like this are always so perfect to recharge and just get away from the normal every day chores! And a good book is a must!

  2. Your pictures tell you've had a lovely relaxing time! London can get maddening and it's good to get out every once in a while!
